The NDA govt. will not allow ministers to head groups of scientists attending scientific conferences abroad. The mischief and garbage that used to go on and the boot-licking behavior of mediocre sycophant-scientists for political favors, hopefully, will come to an end.

A good move by Modi's govt.

Looks like Modi is letting the IAS do what they were trained and hired for - administer, leaving the ministers to oversee policies and principles decided by himself and Yessed by his cabinet.

It helps that Modi is a brand new fresher to Delhi circle and also a relative loner. It is harder to influence him and his hardened views, and even if they did will take a very long time due to his aloofness.

Essentially, the rules have changed and the "game" itself has changed. It is like a bunch of cricketers being forced to play american football...
