Narendra? That dude's humor was pretty crass. I didn't like him much. Only Lalita can call him a comic 'genius'. Btw, Lalita Pandit reminds me of all the big row that happened when her gora husband wrote an article about 'Why Indians should be grateful to Wendi Doniger' in response to the anger that was expressed by many on her and her disciple Jeffry Kirpal's articles. Lalita disppeared since then. That was a good riddance!

Look how sneaky Rashman was/is. First he copied the original post/discussion on Lungi (by Narendra...) to HIS website and posted it here in your thread.
Then he did one better.
He took your youtube link above, copied it to his OWN SITE, then gave that link to the old CH....getting praise from CHers with Rashman proudly thanking them...

Rajiv Malhotra and Sankrant Sanu were pretty active on Sulekha criticizing Wendy Doniger and her disciples. This article of Rajiv caused an uproar (I think there's also a part 2)
http://rajivmalhotra.sulekha.com/blog/post/2002/09/risa-lila-1-wendy-s-child-syndrome.htm
Then Patrick Hogan, Lalita's husband stepped in and wrote an article titled "Ten reasons why anyone who cares abt hinduism shld be grateful to Wendy Doniger". That was an outrageously haughty article. It caused an even more huge uproar. Lalita disappeared since then. I can't find that article now. It was probably brought down. Found this following article which was written in response to that
http://xyz4000.wordpress.com/2011/03/05/on-patrick-hogan%E2%80%99s-%E2%80%9Cwhy-hindus-should-be-grateful-to-wendy-doniger%E2%80%94s-n-balagangadhara/
PS: No, I wasn't 'Kinnera' back then. I had multiple handles.

thank you. i did not know that she is an academic and that her husband is one too. though i'm not aware of the intricacies of this particular exchange, it does seem that hulk hogan took a rather haughty line in defending wendy doniger. what surprises me is their getting involved in such a petty debate in, of all places, sulekha, and i am further surprised by their abrupt departure and request to have their contributions deleted. eek! so much for lofty sagacity we expect academics to be naturally possessed of. i'm not interested in the debate now but while searching for lalita, i came upon a reference subhash kak makes to her. i think over the next few months i'll go back to all of kak's articles and read them carefully -- just out of interest.

Kak and doniger jointly wrote a book on Kamasutra, if I remember correctly. They're all one big gang, i guess.
