Sashi Tharoor gives a non-CONartist commentary....
.... on ancient India.
He also describes how the Muslims were mere elephants that took the seed of knowledge from India and deposited it as dung in Europe.
MT, our extremely brilliant SuCh scholars and Pappu must be very unhappy that Tharoor is starting to wear a chaddi and stopped using his haath. Once Modi builds toilets, the voters will stop using the haath for that purpose as well.

>>>That is a balanced article by Tharoor. The jingoism about inter-planetary travel, plastic surgery etc. ends up clouding the genuine accomplishments in mathematics, astronomy and medicine. Feinman has written about a similar syndrome among modern day Greeks where the wisdom of the ancients is not to be questioned. India will end up missing the boat, if it doesn't see the past as a starting point to go forward and explore, instead of deifying of its history.Vakavaka Pakapaka wrote:.... on ancient India.

Your choice of words leads me to conclude that you too, alas, are a sickular Macaulay-putra who needs to be re-educated on the glory of ancient Hindus. On your next visit to India, after clearing immigration, you will be sent to a compulsory Chintan Baithak on one side of the Arrivals Hall, conducted especially for NRI Patriots on their *ghar wapsi* by Professor Dr Dinanath Batra. This will cleanse you of Macaulayist pollution and open your mind to the glory that was Bharat.

It is not the chaddi that has destroyed the Indian education system. It is the Sikular reservation system and corruption. The Chinese are laughing.Merlot Daruwala wrote:Kris wrote:>>>That is a balanced article by Tharoor. I thought this thread was about the murder case:
In a sensational twist to the death of Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda Pushkar, Delhi Police on Tuesday registered a murder case on the basis of a medical report that concluded her death was unnatural and due to poisoning but nobody has been named as a suspect as yet. Disclosing this, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi did not rule out questioning Tharoor, now a Congress MP and a former union minister.

Nevada:
There were news reports that she was on anti-depressants. It's possible that she died of overdose (not uncommon). On that day, she had a big fight with Tharoor (on his suspected-relationship with a Paki journalist). So, if she got drunk and also took the anti-depressant, she could have died in sleep. If Tharoor administered it to her, that will be hard to prove, I think. Her family and friends (who knew her mood swings, etc.) are not blaming him. Perhaps, Subrahmanian Swami is somewhat sadistic in going after Shashi Tharoor.

What puzzles me is the police commissioner's statements. They don't even know what killed her. All the post-mortem report says is that it was an unnatural death. And yet, he has been telling the media that it is murder. That's today's headlines in most newspapers. But when you go through the story, there's nothing there which rules out a suicide.

@MD -- exactly. nothing published suggests murder. this appears to be a case of political witch hunting.

It could be some congoons pulling the strings behind the scenes to inconvenience Tharoor, as he has not been toeing the party line of late.
