i've been to several hospitals in nyc and some of them had signs that read "no guns beyond this point."
my then-boyfriend was interviewing for a job and the salary they offered him was outrageously high, almost 50K more than some of the other hospitals in quaint towns but he didn't take up any jobs in the city preferring the countryside. this was like 8yrs ago.
I don't recall any hospitals or other public buildings in ny that didn't have security personnel all over the place even on a regular day.

But Boston is not in NY. I don't remember seeing much security in DC area hospitals let alone all over the place. I spoke with my cousin who is a doctor & works in Boston, he says there are no metal detectors in any of the hospitals but that's not the cure though.

whatever. i don't let stuff like this enter my mind. nothing useful comes of it. all i can say about delivery guys is that i hope they're not carrying guns when they deliver stuff to me. and when i think of it that way, i do have to say that i support a ban on guns.
