Business owners within 500 feet of one of Hamtramck’s four mosques can’t obtain a liquor license, she complained, a notable development in a place that flouted Prohibition-era laws by openly operating bars. The restrictions could thwart efforts to create an entertainment hub downtown, said the pro-commerce mayor.

And while Majewski advocated to allow mosques to issue calls to prayer, she understands why some longtime residents are struggling to adjust to the sound that echos through the city’s streets five times each day.

What the heck?

Yes... intelligent people who have been screaming about this and SuCHers who have been saying about behavioral prediction as the muslim demgraphics change have known this all along.

Now the rest of the country will learn by looking at this town. And it only reinforces what my post in your other thread states: any perceived discrimination is a defense by the cultural victims of muslims.

Not so fast.. They probably shouldn't give permit to build mosques in busy/commercial areas.

Islam's biggest flaw in the modern world is their insistence on imposing their ways - broadcasting a call to prayer through loudspeakers five times a day, curbs against consumption of liquor, pork etc, covering up of women - on everyone wherever they gain sufficient political leverage to do so. This is what makes them the most detested religion across the world.

Hamtramck's Muslim population has an excellent opportunity right now to change hearts and minds about Islam's ability to modernize and fit into an American milieu. Using their new found political power to unilaterally roll back annoyances like the call to prayer could go a long way in winning them goodwill in the community. But in all probability, this opportunity too will be frittered away.

Ha ha...

Merlot, make sure you watch what you say about Islam. You bring biggest flaws of Islam to fore... and you may get a fatwa and a bullet from an AK47.

Stick to your expertise of Hindu bashing and you may get some lathis from khakhi short walas or ink thrown on face. Don't worry most chaces are you will live.

So stay safe... bash Hindus only Smile

What are you suggesting? Are you trying to make iSlam disappear? PBUT made one mistake - incorporated the last prophet doctrine so that the faithful will continue to live in the 7th century. Now, you are asking the morons to combletely do away with what makes them unique. Why not just ask them to become pagans again or do a collective hara kiri?
