.....Mt. Kailash and Manasarovar are two of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus. For millennia, Hindus made the difficult trek to Mt. Kailash and so many legends are written about the place. To Hindus, Mt Kailash is as important as Makkah is for monomaniacs and Jerusalem is for all Semitic followers. Therefore, China has no moral right to impede access to the place for Hindus.....

.....India should regain its protector role for Tibet to make it easy for pilgrims to visit Mt. Kailash as well as to protect Tibetan Buddhism.....

India should say the border is dispute everywhere if it is in dispute anywhere. If China wants to question Arunachal, India can question Tibet. Both were part of the old Tibetan kingdom.

Since the Tibetan language and alphabet have more similarities to Indian languages and alphabet (including Devanagari script) than the ancient languages and alphabets in China, it seems Tibet was historically a lot closer to India than China and even an independent country.

India cannot take up role of protector because of lack of military power. Just because we took in the Dalai lama in 1959 we are paying a heavy price. China has armed Pakistan with nukes and invaded in 1962 .

Interesting article, including the part on Jaswant Baba.

As you noted that the mountainous terrain between China and Tibet was extremely rough, remote and difficult to pass / travel which even made it necessary many decades ago for China to send supplies to Chinese troops in the Himalayas via India (Calcutta) rather than using the direct route within China itself, that is a sign of Tibetan people historically being independent and free of Chinese rule (from the north) and Tibet instead having greater linguistic, cultural and political exchanges and influences involving people in India (Tibet's southern neighbor).

In addition, the Tibetan language and alphabet have more similarities to Indian languages and alphabet (including Devanagari script) than the ancient languages and alphabets in China, which is a sign of Tibet historically a lot closer to India than China and Tibet even as an independent country.

Anyway, if people from outside (either from a neighboring country sharing the common culture, religion and language etc., or from remote place with another culture, race, religion and even speaking other language) keep on slowly and steadily entering and settling in your area / land thus growing eventually in significant numbers, that does not grant their original country (from where they had come) the ownership rights over your land / country.
