Also, was Mongo from Blazing Saddles a descendent of this Mongolian guy Genghis Khan?

Re: chicken changezi
I am happy to report the news that chickens were indeed known to the glorious Mongol tribes and the Khagan himself ate this dish personally. I have a ToIlet paper article to prove it.
Chicken changezi (serves 4)
The recipe for this chicken is believed to have originated during the times of the fearsome 13th century Mongolian warrior, Genghis Khan. Folk-tales have it — Like all rulers, Genghis Khan was particular about food and apparently didn't like his food very spicy. He is believed to have been presented with a special recipe to suit his taste by one of his chefs, who wanted to receive his appreciation. The chicken was especially prepared in milk and cream instead of plain water. It must have been a hit to prosper through the years.

Re: chicken changezi
India taught the world about domesticating chicken during Alexander's trip. He also saw for the first time sight of "wool growing on trees" (cotton). (AL Bhasham's book, "India that was glorious" or great or something like that)

That would be the western world. If I remember right, chickens were domesticated in southeast Asia or southern China, and Indians picked it up from their neighbors. The Polynesian voyagers had them too.indophile wrote:India taught the world about domesticating chicken during Alexander's trip.

Re: chicken changezi
Interesting... looks like current research indicates an Indian origin:
It has been claimed (based on paleoclimatic assumptions) that chickens were domesticated in Southern China in 6000 BC.[22] However, according to a recent study,[23] "it is not known whether these birds made much contribution to the modern domestic fowl. Chickens from the Harappan culture of the Indus Valley (2500-2100 BC), in what today is Pakistan, may have been the main source of diffusion throughout the world."

.genghis khan preferred eating beef i would like to think ..more manly somehow
especially when picking up a leg of cow than a spindly chicken wing ..
