John Sununu is the Diggy-raja of the Romney campaign. He will say the things even most Romney surrogates are decent enough to not say, and then proceeds to walk them back. His target audience is the racist sections of the GOP base, who are glad to see a prominent campaign official say the things that they think.

when 90+% of a particular group vote for a certain candidate, it's not "outrageous" to ask the question - is someone supporting a candidate simply because he's of a certain racial background. in powell's case, it was obvious he was uncomfortable with GOP's positions on certain issues which he conveniently let slide during his career but now that he doesnt have any aspirations or career to watch out for, he broke ranks.

the reason powell is not supporting romney is because mitt the twit's entire foreign policy team is made up of ex-bushies, the same crowd that left a stain on powell's otherwise stellar career. if sununu had pointed that out and then criticized powell for not taking a stand during his active career against the neocons, nobody would have argued with him. but this race based comment which insults both powell and the president is nothing if not nasty.

the problem is looking at the group as a group. also in the same group are folks like alan keyes, becky-becky-becky-stan the pizzaman, allen west, and justice pubic hair.

Sununu used the word lazy to refer to obama's 1st debate performance. Now he says Colin Powell is a racist.
Ann coulter calls Obama a retard.
Jack welch's tweet on unemployment number comments.
These are all subtle and not so subtle hints to introduce race into election.

Racism HAS ALWAYS been a very very important factor in US politics. It all starts with the once in 4 yr Gerrymandering by the states.
