nothing new other than mild surprise at the tone deafness even in the face of unspeakable violence against defenseless children. it's time for a change in the conversation. the coolness factor that gun owners crave has to take a backseat to children's safety. there is nothing bicoastal about this. if you want to talk about the second amendment, let's take away everything except muskets.

Cigarettes were also "cool." And its makers also denied responsibility for killing people. Fortunately, the Bill of Rights was written before cigarettes were mass-produced, so the framers didn't put in an amendment protecting the people's absolute right to smoke up wherever they wish regardless of impact on others.

here is a suggestion: keep all this stuff in the shooting ranges where they are going to use them anyway, under lock and key.
