Here is a topic for Rashmun. He is better off dropping Dakhin and embracing Gondi. This way, he may be able to dance with a tribal Gondi girl and, who knows, may even even convince her to marry him! KV will be happy that the Hindian is after a Gondi rather than a Tamil. After marrying a Gondi and having children who can only speak Gondi, Rashmun may realize that Gondi is more suitable (than Hindi) as a national link language.

All the nonsense about national language and link language apart, this is great news. The script is likely derived from Brahmi, which will help with deciphering it quickly. It is great that students are being taught their language.

There was (may be still is) a Maa TV program called "Re la re, re la" for folk singers. Many singers used to sing in Gondi (tribal) and Kshatri (the language of local Maharashtrian kshatriyas) in that program. Once lyricist Chandra Bose commented that the native music was so pleasant to hear, so good that if our movie music composers come across those tunes they would just grab them (and of course, claim that they are their own tunes). Smile
