when i listened to him a long time ago, i told myself i'll only listen to him after he turns 40 when the desperate youthful desire to show off his technical virtuosity has abated. i thought hopefully by then his playing would have gained more dimensions, particularly emotional maturity. i wasn't mistaken. he sounds amazing now. time to give him a listen.
