The middle stanzas of this song written in 1954 go...

Do not concern yourself with the petty fights of today's world
Your destination is far way, and the road is long
Let no one make you lose your way through deception
Keep this country safe, o my kids!

On the loudness of atom bombs is focused this world now
Sitting on a heap of explosives is this world now
You take every step after looking carefully
Keep this country safe, o my kids!

India hasn't done too badly by the warnings of the poet. It hasn't quite "touched the sky" as the last stanza exhorts, but it did well to balance the external pressures mentioned in those middle stanzas while laying the groundwork for today's growth.
