To some extent I agree with him. Look what China was able to accomplish by starting out cheap and commoditizing products that were once considered high end. Another example is Hundai. That brand was unheard of back when people didn't think the Koreans could compete. Again, it was not innovation or tech driven, simply price-driven.

The patent laws are protecting the drug companies in the U.S. because of the huge lobby they represent. The physicians were even colluding with them by pooh poohing generics. Such protection for intellectual property is not effective, hence the risk of competition from China and other countries.

apple's problem is how long can they stay ahead in the innovation game? I think they've hit the ceiling and will slowly lose out to samsung etc in a slow battle of attrition owing to samsung's prowess in manufacturing.

says the man that purchased aapl stock for 6 and sold at 8 never to buy again.
