Does TN govt want Tamilians to learn Hindi?

There is a state funded organization called 'Tamil Nadu Urdu Academy' whose objective is to promote and popularize the Urdu language in TN. The well known tamil poster Max has agreed that hindi and urdu are essentially the same language. When popularizing Hindi in Tamil Nadu, should we refer to it as Urdu (to avoid facing the wrath of a few language fanatics)?

well known tamil poster max thinks rashmun should get a more interesting hobby. that is something other than desperately sniffing out measly evidence from all corners of the internets that tamilians are breaking down doors to learn hindi. watching cat videos on youtube is slightly more interesting.

The Urdu Academy set up by the Karunanidhi government is unfortunately a useless and toothless body which doesn’t have an office of its own. Pasha alleged that barring one All India Mushayara, the Academy failed to do anything concrete and constructive to improve the lot of the language in the state. “That’s the reason why we expect that the AIADMK, if voted to power, would ‘deliver unto Caesar what belongeth to Caesar,” concluded Mr. Pasha by quoting Shakespeare to convey his point.

The state of Tamil Nadu has got a substantial Urdu speaking population amongst both Muslims and Non- Muslims, specially the Punjabis in Tamil Nadu.

In his “Jihad” for the preservation of Urdu in the state Mr. Pasha is ably assisted by SA Qadri, a passionate lover of Urdu.

maybe kayal n frnds should learn hindi.

maybe then they can make Hindian govt understand them better....u know like ..by talking in a language hindians understand.

They need not learn hindi. They can learn urdu.
