Some people claim Kannadasan cloned some songs written by a guy named Pattinathar. Is it true?

I am not sure he could have cloned those songs. But the logic/message may be.

absolutely. and KanndadAsan himself has written books on it - where he includes the original from ramayanam to naLavenbA to nedunalvAdai etc., etc., and writes the way how he transformed it. In fact when someone questioned this, he quipped back remarkably well just saying " moor(u) market ellorukkum sondham! "

Have you read his memoir vanavAsam? He has narrated an incident involving MK.

Looks like you are equal to Uppili. A walking encyclopedia.
