Good, but could be better. You have done some things in your life right, but the dream dowry amount still eludes you. As of now your dowry rate is 50 Lakh. If you are satisfied with this dowry amount, getting married soon is strongly recommended. If you are one of those perfectionist people, then you might want to analyze what factors you need to work on to achieve your dream dowry.

I borrowed money to buy a gold necklace and Thaali, and vehemently refused to accept money given by my FIL for a suit. There was such a war of words for days on this issue, and I returned the rest of money back to him....to made things worse.

My stupid family has this principle of not taking dowry, favoring daughters, and never scolding DILs...since my great grandfather days...

Look at the positive side. At least I am happy that someone is offering crores on the paper to get us married - only parents take such huge risks to keep their Ds happily married (She is a sarcastic devil Razz

). Most people stick to relationships coz it is too much of a work to restart everything in other word…”Laziness” keeps relationships get going. You are rebelling and try to work things and live a life without compromises or true to self, sure seem like a risk; hopefully you are rewarded or stay contented with the fact that you really tried.

Given the billion population there must be someone out there for you; it is only a matter of time.

I *had* to end the marriage, there was no other option. I tried everything possible for years, so no regrets now. I was the last person on earth who wanted to tag myself with that failure. Not to mention endless paperwork and court. So ya, no rebellion thing or bravery there. People (K's cousins too) say that I did it 4 years too late, but I am glad it stretched as long as it did.

Regarding someone new, why? Life is a challange as such, why introduce more variables and possible problems for kids. Let it carry on as is. Plus, if or when K remarries, kids will have atleast me 'all to themselves'. Maybe when the younger one goes to college, will find some roomie.
