Another trigger happy cop, shot this lady employee at Costco 5 times for brandishing knife

Two deputies went to the store to check a report of a disorderly person and used a Taser to try to subdue the woman, Loudoun Sheriff Michael Chapman said. But the woman kept advancing, so one of the deputies fired at her and killed her, the sheriff said. The second deputy was wounded, possibly when a bullet ricocheted and hit his leg. He is expected to recover.

BTW, she was a tiny Asian Lady per those comments, who probably was suffering from mental illness, probably forgot to take meds; She works there, and pretty much done with her shift before she started acting up and that idiot cop shot 5 times in a crowded store and injured fellow cop, it all makes a lot of sense to you! Why am I surprised.

I read quite a few. They run on a similar vein. Bleeding heart liberals crying their heart out at police brutality and the others saying something similar to what is bolded above.

really is a sad commentary on policing that today officers are trained
just to shoot 'if they feel threatened', whether the threat is imminent
or not, and with no consideration of what a reasonable person might
think of the situation. Also that they are trained to empty their clips
into people. Were five shots needed to 'subdue' a woman who was beyond
arms' length away from him? Could talking with her for a few minutes
while summoning medical help have saved her life?

Then there's
the FBI agent who fired 7 shots into an unarmed man he was questioning
in Florida a week ago. Granted, the dead man was the aggressor, but
isn't it excessive force to shoot someone 7 times? It's doubtful the
man could have still been standing after 2 or 3 bullets. Also, there
were a number of other officers in the house at the time who could have
helped restrain him.

I agree about police need more training in
dealing with the mentally ill or disabled. It was just in the Post a
month ago about the 3 cops sitting on a young man with Down's Syndrome
at a movie theater until he suffocated, altho' his only offense was not
leaving when ordered. As was later learned, his aide had gone to get
the car to take him home and he was just waiting for her.

always, officers who kill citizens who turn out not to have been doing
anything wrong are not charged (as in the case above) or are acquitted
when the evidence is clearly against them. For example, the recent
shooting in Alexandria in which an off-duty Arlington deputy sheriff
argued with a young man late at night, went back to his car for a gun,
and returned to shoot him. The victim was unarmed. The deputy has not
been charged.

The media is full of stories about lethal force
being used by police in situations that most people find unreasonable.
Citizens should not have to fear death for not following an unreasonable
or unlawful order from police. Officers need to talk before shooting
unless they see a gun. "

Contrary to what the WaPo brigade seems to think, there isn't a trigger happy police force running amok in this country. You and I weren't there. The chances are high that the police perceived a reasonable threat to use lethal force. Maybe in future they can carry phasers set on stun.

After all, it was justifiable self-defense act; 5 cops couldn't control a single woman with knife, shot her 4 times.

Sheriff’s office officials said that Scott did not respond to commands to drop her weapons and that the deputies were unable to subdue her with the Taser weapon. Plowman said Wednesday that it remained unclear whether the stun gun failed because of mechanical problems or human error; he said the equipment would be analyzed.

why bother checking other equipment as long as there is a gun in working condition, i suppose.
