True. The north Indians don't feel as closely about random people (strangers and acquitances) as do the south Indians. While the north Indians call strangers only aunty, ankil and sister-in-law etc., the south Indians rarely miss the opportunity to call an outsider as ana (brother) or amma (mother) etc., basically a close blood relative.

yeah... total random guess. I debated between 150M and 250M, then decided to go with 150M, coz you gave away the artist name. Guess I read and watch too many stories (fictional) about uppity NY art collectors and robbers.

for art appreciation courses, you might want to check in with your local art museum. here are some offered by our mfa:
http://www.mfa.org/programs/gallery-activities-and-tours

and as for mental disorders, prof ramachandran's lecture (link in a post above) covers some of it.

I'm curious too. Not sure why the painters don't print a pamphlet elaborating what the paintings mean. Why do they leave it for views to keep endlessly debating on what they signify, much like some songs whose lyrics are quizzical, but the singer is dead so we have no way of ever finding what the lyrics meant.

Im sure MaxEntropy man would have some thought on this paintong as he 'liked it' and is a certifies art appreciator.

I think the artist hates women (or at least at the time of painting it. he prolly broke up with a woman) and hence the grotesque and ugly portrayal of the woman. She looks like a witch.

Kramer is weird and funny. There are many side characters who are equally warped and interesting like Newman (the mail man), Frank & Estelle Costanza (George's parents), Uncle Leo, Mr. Peterman (Elaine's boss and publisher), George Steinbrenner, Tim Wattley (the dentist) etc., not to mention Poppie (the pizzaria owner), the Soup Nazi and Babu Bhatt.

it's hard to analyze art. however, the goal of a painter is seldom to present things realistically, but always to exaggerate, accentuate, and hide and induce the viewer to ask questions. i don't think there is any objective meaning or interpretation of the painting.  viewed from that standpoint, i find the discovery of a corpulent female form amidst a riot of brush strokes rewarding to some part of my brain; can't say which.  it leads me to the question why the artiste has imbued such grotesqueness to her breasts and thighs. she also has weird coiled fingers which look completely unrealistic. i suppose this element is a forerunner of the surrealist school. it poses a question about the woman's state of mind. is she happy? she seems to be wearing some kind of a hat and is in the process of disrobing. what is she about to do?

i don't know about you people but i am inspired to take up painting as a hobby. i will start painting very soon and i hope i paint pictures that can decor the walls of the louvre and the living room of the prince of brunei. i want the earls of nottingham and lords of puddigham to discuss my art over high tea. i want wealthy investment bankers and fund managers to discuss my latest creations in scotch bars smoking cigars. i want art students all over the world to debate the meanings of my paintings endlessly, hopelessly trying to ape my creations. i want accomplished thieves all over europe to think about stealing my work.

give me a week to contemplate life and don't disturb me.
