Islam's solution for adultery

@RobotStick: What would you do if u catch your wife with another man in compromised position. You would directly divorce her or worse. You would definitely not talk to her and try to convince her otherwise. But a Muslim man is ordered to talk to his wife and try to convince her, even then if she doesn't stop then he is ordered to stop having any physical contact with her as a punishment. Even after that if she commits adultery again and he still wants to keep her as a wife then he is allowed to beat her (that too with the thinnest stick and with the weakest force) and then if she stops committing adultery then forget about this all episode and do not taunt or tease her in future. This is 4:34 (Surah Al Nisa) Hope this helps you.

Sahih International
Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand.

what does the Holy Koran say about the situation where the adulterer is the HUSBAND ?
