News report suggest that a decision on t problem is imminent and rayala t ( t + 2 rayalaseema districts) is a strong possibility.
why?
1. Addition of two rayala districts splits jagans reddy base in rayalaseema. That would push kurnool anantpur congress's leaning reddy base back to Congress. There is some minority vote argument but that seems to be a poor argument as minorities in andhra go by local equations.
2. Two additional districts will also reduce kcr influence in t state.
3. Split will reduce jagan's source of political power and makes him less potent in a divided andhra.
4. A t decision will put tdp on defensive in t area .

But there is another side to this logic.
Is Congress pushing this rayala t to force a new topic into discussion and delay t declaration ?
Trs already announced that it opposes rayala t but would handle that issue after new state formation.
Some rayalaseema leaders have rejected this move and are promising to fight back.

Congress seems to have few of its leaders such as kotla Surya prakash reddy from kurnool and diwakar reddy from anantpur supporting rayala t plan.
the big question is, will Congress take this disastrous step of rayala t to neutralize jagan for one round of political elections?

Diwakar Reddy's arch rival is Jagan. He knows that he will be dominated by Jagan in the state of Seemandhra (worse, if Jagan becomes the CM of the state). Hence he wants Anantapur as part of telangana where Congress could be the dominant party. Actually, he is the one who started the "Rayala Telangana" thing.
Surya Prakash Reddy's preference for Kurnool to be a part of Telangana could be the same.

If not for the dirty political reasons, where is the need to include the two rayalaseema districts in T state, which is formed only and exclusively for the Telangs?

You made a good point. Kotla and diwakar may want rayala t to secure their bases from jagan. The chances are that in 5 years jagan will be part of Congress.
Why is Congress jumping on a stupid rayala t idea for one lousy political cycle?.
It turns out jagan is not as powerful as they thought in either of those districts.
This is what happens when people who make decisions do not have a feel for the pulse of the people.
Indira was not stupid to keep the state United. Look what it gave back to her in subsequent elections. Except for popular ntr time United ap was a fall back place for Congress.

Yeah, congress is very short sighted and only looking at the short-terms gains. (at the cental level, the focus is only making Rahul the PM in 2014)

btw, if you are wondering, 'why will the ppl of anantapur vote for diwakar reddy if he is for merging their district with T'? The answer is, they never did. It's diwakar, his brother and their goons who take over the polling booths and vote for themselves. btw, diwakar's brother is married to kotla vijayabhaskar reddy's daughter, if i r'ber correctly.

Congress seems to be focused making the stupid guy pm to the e!clusion of all other problems.
I thought they would do some risk analysis and gains and loss analysis.
Congress seems to have stooped down to the level of creating a huge problem to gain the dubious advantage of gaining one or two Mp seats.
Congress may be surprised to find tdp and ysr gaining seats and expanding their influence in t area.
I am sorry for the people kurnool and anantpur for being treated like street dog's kittens.

Interesting news items. Contains multiple inside news. It is difficult to say which of them are correct and which of them are Congress plants.
One item: bjp will disrupt parliament to stall telangana bill from being passed as it will give the t electoral benefits to Congress. Is it possible? Yes. But it also seems to be a diggy raja's. Leak to create a future excuse.
azad is painted as the architect of rayala t idea.
Is rayala t floated as a diversion discussion to allow Congress to backoff on that decision and say to andhra people we listened to you.? That is pretty convoluted thought but my friends think it may be an option. It may confuse andhra resistance t state and allow Congress to finish the process.
