as i look back on my musical appreciation journey, i have discovered way more western music (jazz, blues, and classical music) after i moved here as a grad student. the CD exchange store close to my studio in grad school was like manna. it was my second home really. i listened to some good music, but a lot of really awful awful stuff in india.

6th grade. i had appendicitis, and someone gifted me a thriller cassette as a get-well gift. i would dance endlessly to this one...
