Each year the crowds have swelled at the India Day parade in Woodbridge and Edison, bringing tens of thousands of people and creating a must-attend event for local politicians.

This year, however, with less than two months to go before the parade, two groups are still fighting over the permits in a battle that’s heading to Superior Court this week.

The India Business Association, which has run the parade for six years, has permits from Middlesex County and Woodbridge, but last week a rival group, known as the Oak Tree Business Association was given permit in Edison. Friction between factions has grind on for years, almost since inaugural procession in 2004.

I don't know why, but I was reminded me of a movie where Rajesh Khanna runs away to the US and he becomes a man of high prestige.
