A physician is a Dr only when he "practices and writes a prescription" (theoretically). But, who is stop one when they call themselves a Dr.?

Also, these days a Dr is just a "provider" due to the influx of others who demand they be called Dr - something the physicians think it is below dignity - the D.Pharm, DPT, DNP etc...who also work in the healthcare field.

Hey Dr. Hellsangel...who can stop anyone and who cares these days anyway?

Technically even medical doctors should not use the prefix "Dr." if they had not earned a Ph.D in their field. They are just physicians / surgeons etc.
Like all doctors are MDs here, all lawyers are JDs (Juris Doctor), but they don't use Dr. in front of their names.

Physicians are "addressed" as Dr. But when they (are supposed to) write God-fried Stockman, MD

Only the Indian MBBS Docs write Dr. Capitation Genius, MD.

I was browsing some of the medical school websites and one of the renowned schools had a Indian doc as on its faculty. He had mentioned on his website "MBBS (equivalent to MD in US)"

Yeah....rite...then what is Indian MD equivalent to? Stupid quota Docs.
