Like most of you here, I also thought Jayanthi Natarajan, the Congress party spokesperson is a TN Brahmin.

She actually belongs to Mudaliyar caste.

Her grandfather was M. Bakthavatsalam, a prominent Congress politician and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu between 1963 and 1967.
