this is an imp talk, it was an eye-opener b/c it was all new to me - i certainly don't deal with so much data in a day and i what i do doesn't require me to use algorithms so much - in fact now it seems like the opposite of it cuz i can't really go by algorithms..hey that's nice, computers can't take away my job, they can help me do it better and that's it.

one of the remarks made is that by "algorithm" slavin just means "code". so why didn't he just call it that? i didn't understand the bit about how the amazon book was over-priced by algo out-bidding each other. how did that happen? you can't bid on amazon, can you?

i have to watch it a second time to get it.
