then Seemandhra will be in big trouble. In 2012-13 Seemandhra region generated about 27 crores or about 44% of state's revenue but their expenditure accounts for about 60%. I might add a befitting solution to the daylight robbery that went for about 60 years.

CD'
is this your drinking night?  circars generate surplus revenue. Rayalaseema has a significant revenue gap.  Hyd revenue belongs to state as a whole and seemandhra got its fair share for capital revenue. Now that revenue is taken away suddenly by your stupid congress govt. Hence the problem.

Interesting piece....

"Equally, taxes on property and land revenue are collected where the land or property is located. All this means that the 97.6 per cent or so of the state tax collection is location-based and credited to the district concerned. Thus, demerger will have no effect on the legitimate revenues of Telangana , coastal Andhra or Rayalseema.

So what does one make of the figures floating around Hyderabad’s great revenue collection which the Seemandhra is expected to lose and Telangana gain? It is inconceivable that Hyderabad has a tax revenue of its own of Rs 34,000 crores much less  Rs 55,000 crores. As per Rosaiah’s statement, Hyderabad (as Headquarters) had, in the period 2003-06, an annual average revenue of Rs 7,700 crore. Even if we think 37 per cent was the share of “Headquarters” in the state during 2003-06 and apply to the latest state total figure we get only Rs 24,420 crore. Much of this revenue, as was demonstrated earlier, is specific to Hyderabad and will not relate to Seemandhra.Only sales taxes paid by Seemandhra-based companies registered in Hyderabad will be lost if their registered offices move out.

But the one thing everyone concurs on is that Hyderabad generates the largest share of corruption in the state. This is due to the location of the capital with its political and bureaucratic nerve-centre. Even that will shift to the new capital in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema automatically."

Smartha - this post contains the answer to a question you asked some time back.
Who is reponsible for the backwardness of T area and its people?

CD,

"heads I win and tails you lose".

When it comes to counting avg T revenue, Hyd income is not included to show T is behind.
But when it comes to claiming future revenue, HYd is all T revenue.

Anyway, both sides can and do play these stupid tricks.  I know from my own experience people of T are economically behind.  The cause is not only govt resource allocation but also the fuedal social relationships.  Many parts of T area are still trapped in a limited types of economic activity and the few productive assets (agricultural land) are controlled by a culturally backward fuedal lord.

Frankly those fuedal forces are represented by KCR and to expect that they will be positive for the people of T people is naive.

This type of backwardness is not unique to T area only. It is found in Rayalaseema, chattisgarh, bihar and other forever poor and backward parts of India.

CD,

Deficit surplus #s for AP budget by region (in crores of RS.)
Telangana --    08.4K  (deficit)
Rayalaseema -- 07.0K  (deficit)
Coastal Andhra- 00.7K  (surplus)
Hyderabad    --  12.8K  (surplus)

Now that you know the numbers, you are free to jump to conclusions that match your prejudice.
