Like a comment down there says, no one objects when cows are slaughtered to feed the lions. But everyone loves a giraffe

Of course...no one goes to a ZOO to see a cow and Giraffes dont roam the streets of Africa as they do on the Indian roads.

Then your Holiness would have read:

"It is not possible to transfer the giraffe to another zoo as it will cause inbreeding," it said.

...

Copenhagen Zoo said only zoos that follow certain rules can be part of international breeding programs.
In Europe, these are members of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria. The association counts just over 300 members and under its rules, inbreeding among giraffes is to be avoided.

Yeah..the rules... the logic and practicality have been lost in them...

Inbreeding if it is several generations is much better than killing it. Besides, why only European Zoos? is it a white Giraffe that cannot be sent to South America or Asia ?
