I like the idea of setting four regional national court of appeals (a copy of US system).

India's supreme court eveolved into what it is today because of Indian circumstances.  In my non legal opinion, SC steps outside constitution on a regular basis. Scalia would die of heart attack in a month if he was asked to serve on Indian SC. But indian political intelligensia (is that an oxymoron?) and general intelligentia look the other way over SC transgressions because there is no other unbiased way to control the wild forces of Indian democracy. Election commission lords over govts for 3 to 4 months during their long drawn out election process. IAS and IPS officers break law every day to get things done and were identified as most successful adminstrators.

SC is not a problem. It is a helpful institution in the muddled indian democracy.
