BJP aligning with DMK is not good - arithmatically. The BJP-DMK is sure to lose. perhaps win around 10 seats. ADMK is likely to win 25 at least. When BJP looks for alliance at center to add up the numbers, ADMK will be more helpful than DMK (although the crazy JJ is unreliable). With DMK alliance she may decline support despite her supposed closeness to Modi.

Better for BJP to not win any seats rather than lose support of 25 ADMK MPs.
