"The data averaged over the last 90 days collected from Andhra Pradesh search volumes show that YSRCP supremo Jagan's search popularity is in the same league as BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.

The comparison also shows that Jagan has left TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao behind, with little numerically significant data for the duo. "

My take on elections.

Everyone knows Jagan's claim for SA leadership is based on dynastic considerations (somewhat similar to Rahul Gandhi); that he is corrupt; he has no track record of building or improving anything.

Congress is a goner.

BJP is not trustworthy (Sushma Swaraj's two-tongued statements on the AP division) & Venkaiah Naidu's weasling.

Telugu Desam of Chandrababu Naidu. Everyone knows he tried to be two-eyed (as opposed to Sushma being two-tongued) and weak-legged (he couldn't complete his pada-yatra). He is not chicken liver either when it comes to corruption. He appears to push nepotism followed by clannishness to the extreme. But he does have some executive experience, and he did strive to build things (not just buildings in Hyderabad, but the enthusiasm to succeed through education as well).

Hope JP changes residence from Hyderabad and wins in SA, but that cannot happen.

Looks like the only one left is CBN.

it's true CBN was a two faced douchebag when it came to the split but the bolded statement is quite wrong. no point in discussing it since we all have opinions, some of us more than just one.

How can they? Congress screwed them by not developing SSA for 10 years, with YSR himself re-started the caged tiger of Telegana to spite Naidu.

Atleast they had the 863 crores of Ill gotten money to fall back on. That was their main hope.

YSRCP does not even want to leave Tirupati funds for SAites , and managed to get in there without declaring that he believes in Devadugaaru.

I really pity the SAites. Nobody cares for them.

They don't need no idiot's sympathy. They will do just fine by themselves. Why are you so worried about YSRCP, if that party is so corrupt SAs will know how to handle; unlike certain parts of India, people of this region are well read & capable of taking care of themselves. Isn't it time for Modi Bhajana, now go do what you're best at.

It is none of your business to talk about whom I can worry or not worry about. I might or might not be from SA, but as a compatriot Indian have all the right when someone is given a raw deal. Congress screwed SA and is playing a game plan where just before elections it released the corrupt YSRCP's Jagan to get SA seats. It is a shame that you do not even talk about the 863 crores this guy has amassed.
It just means you are supporting a corrupt individual and you just calling me names does not change the intent of your post. By supporting YSRCP you are basically supporting Congress.  YSRCP is just executing Congress gameplan, to get back the AP seats they had in united Andhra. Every literate person knows this. If the ill gotten wealth is also frittered away, that is so sad, because that money belongs to ordinary Andhraites. Now he goes to Tirupati and show off. Well I hope ordinary SAites do not support this guy anymore, who is just a B-team of the Congress. To avoid revealing his real intent, and show off his anti-congress mask, once in a while he makes some pro Modi statement. People will not buy this logic , in every constituency.

Cd 's argument :
Every body steals. Others were rumored to have stolen a rupee or two. Jagan is charged by his own party govt and cbi to have stolen thousands of crores of rupees. What is the big difference?
Jagan is loyalty driven like his dad. You cannot abandon your partners in crime.
koneru prasad - charged in emaar - ysrc candidate for vijayawada
Ramki ayodya Ramirez reddy - charged in another case with jagan - ysrc candidate for nasara rao pet
Mopidevi - in jail on charges of helping jagan - repalle mla candidate
I may have a minor detail wrong here or there but jagan is bringing the govt to the people or to the people in jail.

That's right TBT's & Propa's pastime is to glorify Hitech Chandranna's achievements and downplay corruption & cronyism allegations while doing the exact opposite about YSR's tenure. Like I said earlier they like to regurgitate it like Gayatri Mantram even though that strategy totally backfired in '09 & in bi-elections.

you are making bombastic statements without contradicting any of the facts listed above.

Your repeated argument seems to be ysr won the election. So he is right and great.
Laloo also won elections after the corruption scandals and may win again after conviction. What does that prove? When people rejected laloo, nitish got a chance to run bihar. Since then bihar is on a tear. It is either the top or among the top growth States in the country. Result is that bihar's people are finally enjoying the fruits of development.
If nitish loses in 2014 to either modi or laloo, it is not a reflection on nitish. It shows the immaturity of Indian electorate. They cannot stop shooting themselves in the foot. A victory for laloo does not prove his method is right and his corruption ok. It is just another mistake of Indian electorate in their long learning process.

For all the non-stop touting about development, what exctly did Hitech Chandranna do in his 9-year rule, other than IT sector in Hyd? squandered tens of 1000s of crores of world bank loans with nothing to show for. No manufacturing growth, ignored rest of the state, no new irrigation projects, looked down & made fun of farmers, became out of touch with reality.

This is precisely why you shouldn't get into the topics you've no clue about. Politicization and misappropriation of TTD funds began under Chandrababu's regime, he was always butting heads with TTD administration for funds, he even sold endowment lands.

Haven't we heard this before.. if my guy wins, electorate is full of intellectuals if the other guys does then electorate is full of ignorant fools.
When people make bad choices they suffer. Bihar is a stark example. So is upa-2.

Did Andhra people make bad choice by electing CBN for second term or not? They ended up with huge world bank debt, power tariffs, threatened with job cuts.. just to name a few (masked under hi-tech city development, rubbing shoulders with Clinton Razz).

More on great Hitech Chandranna's accomplishments..

"But, the roots of Chandrababu Naidu's defeat go far deeper. It was not merely a case of urban-rural divide, incumbency factor or disenchantment with his obsessive policy opposing any concessions in the power sector. Chandrababu Naidu's shortcomings were glossed over by his coterie of politicians and bureaucrats who chose to highlight the achievements in the IT sector and the showcasing of Hyderabad as a fast-growing and modern city. The obvious fact was that the real Andhra Pradesh, a State known for its agrarian strengths, lay elsewhere - in rural areas. Chandrababu Naidu himself made a preposterous thesis that too many farmers were producing too little foodgrains and they must seek more productive employment. There was a complete disconnect with the people and the ground realities as he relished the encomiums showered on him by the World Bank, visiting foreign dignitaries and the international media, which crowned him with various titles such as the "CEO of Andhra Pradesh" and the "IT-savvy CM". Such hyperbole threw a blanket over the deficiencies in the State's economy. The purchasing power of the average citizen had gone down, the gross State domestic product had plummeted, employment growth rate was low, health parameters were unflattering for a State whose capital, Hyderabad, was often described by Chandrababu Naidu as the "health capital of India", and farmers were unhappy over the recurring droughts and the unremunerative prices of their produce. When about 3,000 distressed farmers committed suicide, Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Minister for Panchayati Raj, remarked that "they are ending their lives in the hope their families will get ex-gratia". The TDP government never gave money to families of such farmers on the specious ground that it would only encourage farmers to commit suicide.

Chandrababu Naidu's aim of turning the State into "Swarna Andhra Pradesh" within two decades largely revolved round the long-term economic plans suggested by the Australia-based consultancy, Mckinsey & Co. In his scheme of things, the State would borrow money quite heavily from the World Bank and other international funding agencies for restructuring its economy and the power and health sectors and revamping its administration.

Strong criticism by the Congress(I) and the Left parties, particularly the CPI (M), against the World Bank's conditionalities left Chandrababu Naidu unmoved. He maintained that the World Bank had never stipulated downsizing the government by cutting 2 per cent of the jobs annually, privatising the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) and the Singareni Collieries or increasing power tariffs. "I will turn down the World Bank loan if you can secure credit at lower interest rates," was his stock reply to the Opposition, which expressed alarm over the State's overall debt burden, both internal and external, touching a staggering Rs.75,000 crores. His statements had rung hollow because his government wound up or disinvested in a record number of public sector undertakings, hired thousands of people on contract jobs, and raised electricity rates to a new high."

-> Some more achievements of our able & top executive Babu garu.

While these farmers were being driven to suicide by the thousand in Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, the state’s chief minister, was being iconized in the western press as the apex posterboy for neoliberal “reform”. The Wall Street Journal hailed him as “a model for fellow state leaders”. Time crowned him “South Asian of the year”. Bill Gates called on Naidu. So did Bill Clinton. So did Paul O’Neill. John Wolfenson, president of the World Bank, tossed him loan upon loan.

The press projected onto Naidu all their fantasies of what a neoliberal modernizer should be, building an IT-based economy in “Cyberabad”. Oppression of women? Naidu’s fixed that, crowed The Financial Times: “In a country where lower caste women are locked out of decision-making, the government of Andhra Pradesh is sponsoring a social revolution…. Women now dominate the village square”.

Indeed, World Bank officials clapped their hands as Naidu kicked aside the panchayats – democratically elected village councils – and announced he was empowering women in new local organizations. What could be wrong with that? Plenty. The new outfits usually turned out to be small coteries with the right connections, which got Naidu’s patronage and which filched or wasted the money while the genuinely democratic panchayats were sidelined and starved of funding. The collapse of democracy – that is, the framework for collective action to combat disaster – in the countryside contributed to the terrible harvest of death.

On December 27, 2002, Keith Bradsher of the New York Times issued a worshipful resume of Naidu’s assets and achievements, selecting for particular mention the asset that Bradsher deemed vital to Naidu’s political grip on Andhra Pradesh. “Naidu and his allies”, Bradsher breathlessly confided to the NYT’s readers, “speak Telugu, a language spoken only in this state and by a few people in two adjacent states”. What Bradsher was saying was that Naidu spoke the same language as the other 70 million inhabitants of Andhra Pradesh. It was as though someone ascribed Tony Blair’s political successes in the United Kingdom to his command of English.

Apart from Naidu’s wondrous fluency in his native tongue, Bradsher fixed upon other achievements likely to excite an American business readership: “Mr. Naidu”, he excitedly confides, “ has succeeded in raising electricity prices here by 70 percent” and “has enacted a law requiring union leaders to be workers from the factory or office they represent… Andhra Pradesh has also relaxed some of the restrictions on laying off workers”.

In the spring of 2004 the Naidu balloon exploded with a gigantic thunderclap. The Indian poor entered his field of vision decisively, even as they shattered the expectations of almost every national political pundit. Rarely has a posterboy been more humiliatingly peeled from the billboards and tossed in the gutter. Naidu’s elected coalition plummeted from 202 seats to a quarter of that number.

The verdict, from landless poor to farmers to rural women to the denizens of Cyberabad, was well nigh unanimous: the Naidu model had been a disaster for Andhra Pradesh, as statistics had been inexorably recording even during his glory years. Economic growth was abysmal and other vital statistics equally wretched
