How is divine Forecast for 2? It fits the wordplay, but not sure about the clue.

I meant 2 but entered 8 for letter count 8.

hint2: Use the indicator letter for "quiet."

3.   Links buzzing bugs. ( 4 )
hint1: homophone
hint2: think of a qualifier for a T-shirt

5.   Horse swallows a very soft stone. ( 8 )
hint1: word-in-word
hint2: use indicator letter for "soft," and by extension "very soft."
   
7.   Plant found in varied climates ( 8 )
hint1: Too easy to give a hint (okay, Obnoxious spots these easily).
 
8.   Security overturned in rather unethical fashion. (6)
