The Akali Dal leader heavily involved in Jailtley's campaign has accepted his mistake--after the Cong criticism--but claims it was a "slip of the tongue".

I read the changed verse. Instead of saying something like "protect me", it suggests, "protect Jaitley". In what way is it an insult to "God"?

CONmen are becoming desperate. They are jealous of Modi's ralley in Varanasi. They are converting Modi garlanding Vivekananda, Malavya and Patel into a communal event! They are blaming the media for showing huge crowds. CONartists should just accept their own crap and, if they can, find better ways to succeed.

Sikhs are less tolerant than Hindus when it comes to their religion. Sikhs don't like people messing around with their prayers, changing words of their prayers and so on. Moreover the Akali Dal leader( Jaitley's ally) has also accepted his mistake claiming it was a slip of the tongue.

Looks like the Jaitley team changed the sacred Gurbani.

Congress’ Amritsar Lok Sabha candidate Amarinder Singh has demanded the Election Commission to ban Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia from campaigning in the state over his alleged act of distorting the “Gurbani” by adding BJP candidate Arun Jaitley’s name into it.

The leader has also written to the Akal Takht, the supreme temporal seat of the Sikhs, asking it to summon Majithia for the alleged blasphemy.

Amarinder wrote to the EC seeking it to ban Majithia “from campaigning along the same lines as it did with BJP’s Amit Shah and SP’s Azam Khan for provocative speeches which hurt the religious sentiments of millions people across the globe.”

Capt Amarinder said the hymns are also the prayer of the Sikh Regiment, infantry regiment of the Indian Army, which he (Amarinder Singh) belonged to.

The Congress leader urged the Akal Takht to take immediate action against Majithia as “it was important lest some people like him think that they can do anything and get away with it”.
