Anticipatory Bail Empty Anticipatory Bail

Does any country other than India allow anticipatory bail, i.e., granting bail in anticipation of being charged with a crime?
If not, why is it needed in India, now that the British are gone?

May be it should be abolished. Only politicians and moneyed criminals benefit from it.
