Kancha Illaya - He is a classic example of "nenu pattina kundetiki mude kallu". 

His claim is history is written by victors. " You wrote your story in the past. Now we will tell our story. What we tell our people is our reality".

Research, logic, respect for the otherside, and politeness are not his strengths.

He has a political agenda - to somehow make dalits (and his own caste - gollalu) the leaders in India. So, he interprets everything to suit it. Apparently, he receives support from outside. Rashmun should get together with Kancha and re-write Indian history so that Ravan and Aurangazeb become heroes and Rama and Buddha, villains.

He includes Buddha in his side because lot of dalits in T area followed ambedkar into Buddhism. 

Illaya does not mind bending the truth a little or a lot to suit his narrative.  He also does not feel obligated to do research to find facts.  His operational technique is one step ahead of congress. He got an audience that is deprived for generations and hence angry at some sections of people. So he will feed that group whatever bits and pieces of ideas that satisfy them for the moement and make his pitch for support. 

He is not taken seriously even among SC/ST or left intellectuals.  He is considered a opportunistic rabble rouser. Some say he is paid by western sources to cause anti upper caste waves in India.
