Hyderabad: The TD and Opposition YSR Congress traded charges as they debated the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address on Monday.

The TD’s strategy to pin down the YSRC through allegations of corruption by late chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy fell through when Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy came armed with data on economic and human development during Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s previous stint and that during the decade when Congress ruled AP.

Mr Jagan found fault with the Governor repeatedly stressing on “malgovernance during the last decade” in his speech. He put numbers on the GSDP, per capita income and HDI comparing the TD and Congress rules.

“During 1994 to 2004 (Naidu time), GSDP growth was 5.72 per cent per year, but from 2004 to 2014, it rose to 8.23 per cent per year. Per capita income rose from `25,321 in 2004-05 to `89,214 in 2013-14,” he stated. Finance minister Yanamala Ramakr-ishnudu continuously intercepted him saying per capita incomes generally rise with time.
