NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not likely to attend the football World Cup final in Rio, the government said on Wednesday. Modi had been invited by Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff to attend the event, along with leaders of Russia, South Africa and China who will be in Brazil in mid-July for the BRICS summit.....

someone else in his position (as newly elected Indian P.M.) probably would have made use of the invitation and attended the World Cup
