Ah..music of the Mississippi Delta..
Believe it or not..I thought about you (as an ardent blues fan), when I was in New Orleans this past weekend..and was listening to blues, blues and more blues (and I am not a blues fan!)..as we were eating lots of catfish, crawfish, shrimp fish..well, just gumbo of all kinds and jumbalaya (after three days of that..just want to come home and eat curd rice and pickle..may be we are getting old:)
If you have not been to New Orleans..please do, you will enjoy yourself.."the Big Easy"..is really about taking it easy.. like no other place (well, may be Memphis is just as good)..
On a more serious note..took the "Katrina tour" this time..for three hours..amazing how New Orleans is bustling and booming again..the lovely little houses..in many areas..painted red, purple, blue, pink and yellow..not sophisticated or stylish at all..but full of life!

i love the many stews they make out of crawfish that i have had during my rare visits to the south, but i have never been to new orleans. i definitely want to go there. believe it or not, i was scheduled to visit to attend a conference right before katrina struck. glad my family made me cancel the trip! but i love the music, both jazz and the blues. i have to visit one of these days. thanks for the suggestion!
