Is there any data/info available for finding the no of individuals/contributions from each state in terms of literature/science/technology/finance/defense etc, post 1947.

I was just looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gujarati_people 

Is there any collective data state wise since 1947?

Andhra Pradesh has a list of prominent people.  I am assuming most indian states have been represented in similar fashion.  

Wikipedia is the right place to look for it.

I propose Wikipedia for nobel prize.
