in fact killing a goat is good thing . hindus should also emulate it . makes one impervious to shedding of blood which is exteremely useful in war .i advocate establishment of kali mata temples all over the country since the goddess accepts animal sacrifice .

Doc, you do us much injustice. You're not a stranger to us. On this forum your views are well known. To be precise, you're known only for this specific viewpoint hereabouts, so there was no need to repeat it at all.

The headline in this thread makes little sense. You seem to be undermining the efforts of all those who would like to introduce minor changes in their centuries old religious rites / practices.

I agree. Why is giving a sheep or two as a sacrifice considered barbaric, and banned while thousands of sheep butchered for other religious festivals is not? Same applies to thousands of turkeys, chickens and other animals killed in the name of religious festvals and traditions. the point is that PETA is not hypocritical as claimed above. they've been consistently against cruelty to animals and against cruel farming methods. i am not a member, but admire their work.

what's amusing about this is had hindus done this, there would be 3 para posts with complex wording to pour scorn by the wine quaffing uppity elite intellectuals. but islamis hurting women? that's worthy of a good bwahahaha

Islamis hurt women to protect a higher life form - Goats. So they are justified in following their holey book.

Do you mean to say that the number should be at least 500 goats or people? 20, 30 or 189 people dont really count as "killing"? So are such killings just a Neivediyum for the FIL Abu-Bakr or SIL Ali?

If cruelty is what upsets you, go talk to the meat factories. Trying to stop meat production and haranguing meat eaters on how they should change their dietary habits amounts to forcing down your beliefs on others.
People who support this kind of evangelism have no business condemning religious conversions by Christian or Muslim missionaries.
