Welcome winter

i hate hate winters. kolkata sucks right now. 19 degrees celsius. but me friend in chicago reports it is -19 degrees celsius there and he will hide in the fridge to escape from the polar vortex beast. my oil heaters are up and running (love them):

The babu moshais will be wearing their monkey caps, mufflers and a couple of sweaters when they set out on their morning walks. Why, the Bongs in our building do that here, in Mumbai on those rare occasions when the temp dips below 20 deg C!

Heard ?? Just heard?
Just take a look at the beaches of Madras. The Triplicane and Thiruvanmayur Mamas walking with muffler (scarf) and Kullas - the day "Maargazhi" starts (forget even if it is 30C).

i have seen bandar-topi uncles in edison in the middle of a june-july afternoon, when it's close to 80 F. Maybe sometimes it goes down to the 60s in the evenings, maybe that's why...

lol, was adding on the observations of MD and Upps.
I have been wrapped like that pic of yours many winters. When I used to walk almost a mile across NYC two times a day, no matter what weather (very rarely took a public transit coz I had to walk halfway anyway, or take a metro bus which was a bigger nightmare). After coming home, my nose would still be cold for 2-3 hours, and my feet too. Still, have such fond memories of my full length down jacket from the time. Everyone in the family hates that. I still take it out in winters when i have to drop kids to the bus stop in winters (we don't park our car in the garage). Nightie or PJ ke upar long jacket and boots and gloves. Didn't mind whatever chill awaited us.
