More girls in Prime Minister Narendra Modi home state Gujarat seem to be reporting ‘sexual abuse’ than anywhere else in the country. According to a recent status report published by an NGO — Save the Children — over 63 percent girls in Gujarat have reported sexual abuse which is highest in the country.

Madhya Pradesh (57%) and West Bengal (56%) stand second and third respectively in the report titled, `Wings 2014: The World of India’s Girls’, conceptualised by the NGO and prepared by Advanced Centre for Women’s Studies of Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS).

63% ???

What is the definition of sexual abuse?  

Does that mean some creep touched in a bus?  Some old man asked for sexual favors?  or as probably assumed by many forced into a sexual intercourse by someone?

Whatever the criterion may be, it has been applied uniformly across the country.

It is possible but one minor issue though, Guajart ranks around 18 in literacy rate rankings by state, in both total & women literacy rate.
