Very valid point. Rajiv killers case MUST be seen in connection with the Afzal Guru hanging case.

If your law has capital punishment for hanging them all. Would they have pardoned any other guy who killed 20 guys?

After initial anger, one would restrict capital punishment to crimes committed against humanity or with intention to punish humanity, as in the case of political assassinations.

Unfortunately, in TN killers' case it is their ealam brethren, and the TN politicians support for the killers appear to send a message of US (Tamilians) vs THEM (Hindians), with Rajiv being considered an "enemy" who is held responsible for killing of their ealam brethren in Sri Lanka - a likely interpretation by the Naarth Indian population.

How will the people react or refuse when J & K and muslims - not to mention PakiSatanis, OIC, etc.. - call for the Govt to commute any death sentence for the Kasabs and Gurus ?
