The 24-page document that entails the party's roadmap in taking Delhi forward by making it a world-class city and steps in public welfare includes a section on "North Eastern Immigrants to be Protected".

The section talks of special cells in all police stations and 24-hour helpline numbers to be set up "for protection of northeastern migrants".

Looks like a genuine mistake of referring to 'migrants' as 'immigrants'. Could be typo or proof reading error. However, like the calssic 'idigo tOka ante adigO puli' style you now added your own 'illegal' qualification to it. So much for your honesty.

Depends on what you include in "North East". If Bangladesh figures in that definition (and there's no reason to exclude it given that it borders most of our North Eastern states), then yes, it amounts to protecting illegal immigrants. If the BJP was only referring to the Indian states in the North-Eastern part of the country, why would they use the term 'immigrants' to refer to people from there??

One ought to be bred in the bone BJP supporter not to see anything wrong with passing ordinance to regularize umpteen unauthorized colonies in Delhi & the references to immigrants. These are the kind of vote bank politics that our maha-patriots love to hate but they seem to have no issues when the shoe is on the other foot.
