Because the poor thing grew up in TN. Back in the day, there was not much scope to learn the rastrabasa in tamizzhnadu (a changed scene now). K.V Mahadevan was a smart dad. He sent his son away from TN.

Sreeram Chandra (the telugu guy who won the Indian Idol title) and Sankar Mahadevan singing his famous 'breathless'. An awesome performance!

Oh! We went to American Sniper today, but couldn't get the tickets. So, we booked in advance for tomorrow's 11 am show, without realizing that hubby will be up all night tonight watching cricket. I am disappointed to learn that the movie is boring.

Will watch the video in a while...

video is all right.. some really bad singing...

will get back to the movie in a few, who knows if it picks up... we have it on some site, so the print is bad, maybe that's why it's appearing the way it is.

We are going to the theater with the full recliner chairs. That should make the movie more tolerable, if it's bad.

no clue; who is she? there are many tambrahm ingratiators. they were some of the first to migrate and hence have a head start on all southern indians on the fine art of ingratiation and sucking up.

Oh, you really have no clue? Which rock are you living under? To be fair to you, I do remember you talking her down before.

So the non-ingratiator pure tamils 1. don't like anyone appreciate their talents and arts and 2. don't appreciate anyone else's talents either. They just want to live in their own hole called Tamilnadu. Great! All of us non-tamils can do the first one for sure.

btw, it's bottu, not pottu.

you have it wrong. there are tamilians i have tremendous respect for who are firmly in the non-ingratiator category who have discovered on their own terms what's best and pure in indian art outside of their own immediate cultural experience, and have indeed become masters at it. people like m.s.gopalakrishnan and n.rajam. they went out and sought the best that north indian music has to offer and mastered it. nothing to do with popularity, bollywood, or learning to do dil deewana dance or singing. that said who is the massive pottu-ed woman who is crying rivers of tears for the mangeshkar?

What's 'best' is very subjective. You would do well if you understand that.
