Q. If you pick up food from a restaurant to carryout, how much do you think you should tip the person who brings you the food, whether it is the bartender, host or wait staff?

A: Tom Sietsema

Depends on the size of the order. In general, 15 percent feels right to me.  (Someone should be thanked for taking the order, placing it, making sure the meal has necessary utensils and condiments and so on.)
