....One would think it would be opposite. And, all it took for Putin is a year of anti-americanism and stoking anti-ukraine/Europian sentiment.

Shows how difficult it is to maintain a good image of a former enemy country. If anything only German/Italy attitude towards America is an exception. That is likely attributable to race. Despite Japanese/Korean friendliness to America it is not perfect. Race keeps them separated by a very fine line.
