Hot news APARTHEID is back in South Africa

The South African Indian community have been advised that the Indian government's Consulate in SA will charge a fee for classes in Tamil lessons whereas Hindi will remain free. This is unfair practise. Read more here: http://bit.ly/freetamil
One writer said that Apartheid is back in South Africa through Indian Embassy!

Today Ms. Mala Latchmanan, Tamil Teacher/journalist, Naufal Khan, journalist, and Tamil several community leaders representing, International Movement for Tamil Culture (IMTC), and South African Tamil Federation (SATF) met with the Consul at the Indian consulate in Durban, South Africa. His response was negative and said that he received orders from the Government of India to offer Hindi classes free of cost but to charge students of Tamil. But he refused to show the government order.
""Feedback..meeting with Consul General. With regards to his claim that Hindi is the official language of India, hence the lessons are free..his colleague shoots him in the toe by saying that there are 22 official languages in India, including Tamil. When asked for him to show us the directive from the Delhi Gov to support his claim, he replied by saying that that.is an internal Government matter which he can't share with us..so much for the honesty, accountability and transparency. He was evasive and changed the goalpost constantly.
All he could say was forward a petition to his office and he will fwd it to Delhi and make public the Delhi Gov's reply....the fight has only just begun"".
