It wasn't creepy. It was just stupid. Age of consent at 12? But that won't stop the PC crowd from going overboard now.

the contestant, under pressure, was probably thrown off by the phrase "in common law." I wouldn't have known that common law defines the age of puberty; is that not a medical or biological definition? I would only expect any law to specify the age of consent for sexual intercourse, no matter when puberty may have occurred.
the contestant may also have thought that the host was referring to common law some centuries ago.
the question was unfair and poorly phrased.

First... I dont know what is so creepy about his answer:
See this for "age of consent" in various countries and states (See CT for instance)...See LIST
Now, if it is about puberty... 12 is a VERY VALID number these days. The average age of puberty in girls now is closer to 10. read this..and tons of otehr references
and so what is so creepy in his factual answer - right or wrong ?

it seems like he blurted out something under pressure and missed the phrase 'signalling adulthood'. it is just a gaffe - why lynch him for this?

In fact, the woman who answered another question with "Threesome" instead of "Love triangle" sounded worse.
Connecticut has 12 as age of consent for a girl to have sex with a 13 yr old (not 14 or above).
so whats wrong with his answer of 12 for age of consent?
