Somnath Bharti's wife: I'm average looking, maybe that's why he ill-treated me

NEW DELHI: Somnath Bharti's wife on Tuesday took a dig at the former Delhi law minister over his 'beautiful women' remarks.
"I am an average looking woman, maybe that's why I was ill treated by him," Somnath Bharti's wife Lipika Mitra said reacting to his comments.
"He clearly isn't concerned about my security but only the security of "beautiful" women," said Lipika, who has accused the former law minister of abusing her.
Somnath Bharti had on Monday created a flutter by saying that "beautiful women" would be able to go out at midnight provided AAP government takes over policing system in the national capital.
"I am fully confident that if Delhi government is given full freedom (over security), beautiful women will be able to go out even after midnight without any fear.
"We will provide a fully-secure Delhi..." Somnath Bharti said during a discussion on setting up of 'Commission of Inquiry' in the Delhi assembly here.
Somnath's remarks have raised a storm with several organizations protesting his comments.
