Interlinking of rivers - Andhra takes the lead...... Empty Interlinking of rivers - Andhra takes the lead......

...... Dr. K. L. Rao, who was the irrigation minister in Jawaharlal Nehru's cabinet in the 1950's and a Padma Bhushan awardee, had a vision to interlink rivers in India. Now, Chandra Babu Naidu's govt. has linked Godavari with Krishna. Hopefully, other states will see the light and go for water sharing........

Godavari near Rajamahendravaramu is fed by tributaries like Sabari that originate in Eastern ghats to ensure ample supply of water even in Summer. A lot of this water (more than 3000 TMC per year) drains into the Bay of Bengal. So, Polavaram project was initiated to decrease the drainage. Once the project is finished, canals will feed coastal districts (Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur). Upstream water in Krishna will be diverted to Rayala Seema. When that happens, Seema will become highly prosperous (the soil is rich and with water, crops will thrive as well as in coastal areas). If Krishnadevaraya brought Rayala Seema into the limelight, CBN will be creating another era of prosperity for the region. With his determination and dedication, he is bound to succeed.
(A note for Jagan's friends - get a life!).

will the Ganga and Yamuna be linked with Krishna, Godavari, and Cauveri soon? Holy water of Ganga and Yamuna would be mingling with the water in the SI rivers, and the extreme pollution in the Ganga and Yamuna would be dispersed from NI to SI. Seems like a win-win situation for everyone.
